Stair surprise

I have to keep an eye out when walking around the house. Namiko sometimes pops out at the most unexpected places. There were a few unfortunate times when she suddenly ran out in front of me from a hidden place while I was walking and I end up kicking her by accident. Poor kitty.

A blur of furry whiteness at the bottom of the stairs.

No other than Namiko the spying kitty.

Your cover is blown, dear Namiko!

"Eeeeeeeh?! I'm still going to attack your leg!" her intensely focused gaze seems to say.

As long as I don't step on her by accident, all is well.

Donut bed rest

Namiko sleeps all day when the sun is out, so I rarely get to see her in her most active hunter mode these days. Others in the household who are up late at night tell me tales of the appearance of a vampire Namiko running crazily around the house, attacking paper bags, and jumping in and out of cardboard boxes. How I wish I can stay up late and watch her antics!

(Zzzzz....)

Namiko, wake up! Want to play around a bit before I leave for work?

"I rather snooze... zzz...", her sleepy eyes say.

The vampire kitty continues her rest.

Morning visit

Namiko never fails to wake me up in the morning at 6 or 7 a.m. What does she do while I try to sneak in an hour or so of more sleep? During her better moods, she tranquilly sits on my bed and proceeds to do some self cleaning. However if she is in a bad mood, she does very bad things to my hair as I innocently lay on my pillow.

So what mood is Namiko in today?

Angelic kitty? Or devilish feline?!

Mouth opened, tongue ready...

Namiko decides her fur deserves more attention than attacking my hair.

My hair and scalp thanks you kindly, dear Namiko.

Mouse in the House

There are almost no limits to what I'll buy to keep Namiko happy. This is especially true when I saw this Mouse in the House cat toy on the internet and knew I must get it for her! I really must save more money for the future but I can't seem to resist the urge to buy her more and more toys for her enjoyment. I must practice more self-restraint, argh!

What an indulgent caretaker I am...

Bed stretch

Cold weather means Namiko spending more and more time napping on my bed. I really do enjoy having her sleeping in bed with me (usually in the early morning with her vampire-ish time schedule) but sometimes I end up sleeping in awkward positions so I wouldn't disturb her comfortable place in bed. We are slaves to our cats!

Luxuriously relaxed on my bed

How long can you stay like this, dear Namiko??
bedstretch2.jpg

"Forever would be nice..", her head gestures.
bedstretch3.jpg

Dare I move her from this sweet spot?
bedstretch4.jpg

Argh, okay, Namiko, you win. Sleep there all you want..

Rain and sun

Namiko enjoyed a weekend of rainy weather. With her thick and dense fur, she prefers the cold rather than the heat. She's been avoiding all the puffy beds I have out for her lately and instead choosing to sleep in my bed, perhaps to share her caretaker's warmth.

Protected by her furry coat, she fears no cold.

She is still, however, vulnerable to kitty sleepiness (as usual).

Panic mouse

I'm embarrassed to say this, but I've become a shopaholic for my cat. I love buying her new toys and playthings to keep her happy. I just can't resist the opportunity to see her face light up with excitement when I present her with a new toy.

Here she is with her Panic Mouse toy:

She's become so lazy now, not even chasing the toy. Ah well, at least she is happy, which makes me so very very happy too.

Bag and seek

What cat can resist a paper bag? Definitely not Namiko. She feels drawn to climb into one whenever it is within her reach.

Big enough to crawl into and hide for the day.

You wouldn't even know she's there, until you hear some wrinkling noise coming from the bag.

I had to cut the handles so they wouldn't pose as a choking hazard. She's gotten her head stuck through the handles a couple of times before.
