Lazy Namiko? Lazy caretaker...

Namiko is doing well these days. I've been so busy with work, I haven't had a chance to update in a while. Gomen ne! Namiko is still a very naughty little kitten and still as demanding of our attention as always. And just as lazy (as her caretaker)...

Namiko still loves to lay around, doing nothing but enjoying the afternoon.


Until something catches her attention from the window... Nani?!

Window lure

The window to the outside world is one of Namiko's favorite hangout spots. I'm not sure which she enjoys the most: watching the birds or cars drive by as her eyes dart side to side, sniffing the exotic smells carried to her flaring nostrils by the wind, or listening to the unusual sounds of the neighborhood.

"I think I spotted a bird!", her intensely focused eyes seemed to convey.


Alas, no real bird catching for sweet Namiko, just some furry stuffed play toys. I can just imagine the feline indignation.

Attention please

Namiko is the only cat in the house. Thus, her playmates comprise of only us, the human companions. As a young kitten, she used to be content playing by herself with her numerous toys. But now, she absolutely requires that someone interact with her as she plays with her toys, yikes!

Becoming quite a high maintenance kitty, dear Namiko!


Looking towards the heavens for guidance, Namiko offers no comment.


I'm quite tempted to get another kitty as a companion for her, but worry about how she will react to sharing a house with another feline. Will Namiko be generous and peacefully share her territory?? I hope so...

Summer is around the corner but the heat is already here. Poor Namiko has been shedding fur like there's no tomorrow in preparation for the seasonal change.

Here she is hiding under a stand, trying to stay cool.


Hot weather + dense fur = one unhappy Namiko.

Namiko loves to sniff and explore new items in the house. Such is the case with some clothes I just bought. Leaving new clothing on a chair is just asking for Namiko to test out how well it can be sat on.

As a sign of generosity, Namiko leaves her furry goodness (i.e. cat hair) behind on the pants.
